Commenting issues

In the past week or so, I've been having problems commenting on some blogs. For some reason, the box where you choose your account is very tiny and nothing happens when I click on it. This is only on some blogs, not all. Consequently, it keeps telling me to select an account, which I can't do. So I can't comment. Grrrrr!

I know it's not caused by this... although I have had that kind of issue in the past. Lila is good for walking on the keyboard.

Has anyone else been having this problem? And if so, do you know how to fix it? I've not been ignoring anyone, I just can't comment!!! I need one of these on my computer...

  1. I sometimes have a problem if I'm not already signed into Blogger... and my phone will sometimes go into meltdown.
Sometimes problems can be an IE or a Mozilla problem.
Crikey, I'll try anything to get my comment pasted in a comment box... even if it takes me days. I'm a bit weird like that.

  2. Scarlet: It's not an issue if the comments open up in a separate window... but if they are on the bottom of the page (like at Map's). I'm signed in to blogger if I'm signed into my email (it's all google accounts) and when online, I am always signed into my email! I've even tried signing out and back in again, to no avail. I don't do anything via my phone, other than emails, although I could. Maybe I'll try it there and see what happens.

  3. I've found that for the embedded comments boxes, such as Maps, that I sometimes have to sign into both my Gmail and Blogger. Drives me mad.
Hate those embedded boxes [hint, hint Maps!!!]

  4. I'm having the same problem. I can't even comment on my own blog. Finally, I went to a different browser, Safari, and I had no problems. I googled the problem and check blogger and could find nothing. Hope this helps.

  5. Scarlet: I tried that. Made no difference. *sigh*

Boxer: I use Google Chrome. You'd think using a google product with other google products would not be an issue. Maybe everyone just needs to get away from embedded comments and go to the pop-up window so that it won't matter what browser one uses? I really don't want to switch browsers as I like Chrome otherwise, and this just started a little while ago.

  6. We (friend and I who share a Blogger blog) had a similar kerfuffle. We assumed it was her computer as I could get in from mine. She uses IE and I am on Chrome.
It came right, but don't know what the fault was.

  7. It's a bloody blogger thing! I just had to sign and comment in my Google account.
Now I'll have to back up, go around the corner and sign in to Wordpress to access my own. Idiots!

  8. I think Blogger has hiccups from time to time.

I had the same problem once: deleted the cookie for it, started again and it worked!

  9. Dinah: Bloody blogger! It's always one thing or another, isn't it.

Hope: I scan and delete cookies regularly. Or is this something else I should be looking for...

LX: The ANY key? What the hell is that? Do I have one of those?

  10. I have a vague recollection of having a similar problem to Hope.
I had a major computer clean up and then Blogger [in Mozilla only] wouldn't work properly... I can't remember what I did to get it back. I might remember later.

  12. A recent problem that drove me bananas was when I pressed publish it went to 'sign in' and then my comment disappeared. Then I started to copy and paste each comment and the second time it would work.
That now seems to have cleared up and I'm trying to forget all the naughty words I have been using.
