It seems that there are issues with comments on various blogs. I have no way to comment on a blog that has the embedded comments form. And Mago cannot comment on my blog because of word verification.
I've switched to the new blogger format and have not been able to find the place to disable word verification. It is not on the comments settings page. That would be the logical place, one would think, but obviously someone at google did not think the same.
So if any of you more technically advanced bloggers out there could help me, it would be most appreciated! With both issues mentioned, if possible.
Thanks!!
:-( I'm still using the old blogger format because I'm worried about the problems everyone is having. Did you google this quesion in the blogger help? I'll see what I can find out.
ReplyDeleteI did indeed search through blogger help. Entering "word verification" came up with one entry, and the link they provided went to "sorry, unable to find this page." WTF is up with that????
ReplyDeleteI am at a loss. On blogs with the embedded comments form, I can't leave a comment because I can't choose an account from the dropdown box (it is microscopically small and eminently useless). Mago can't comment on my blog (and others) because no matter how often (and correctly) he enters the word verification, it is rejected.
It's all enough to drive you crazy!

ReplyDeleteHEY!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened?
Okay, so I just went back to the old interface and turned it off. How stupid that in the new one this capability doesn't exist in the new one!
ReplyDeleteThere you go, Mago. :-)
I swear to GOd - at the first comment wv was still there. I expected it to be rejected. Now it's gone - you found the right button, resp. box to tick!
ReplyDeleteLet me rephrase that poor sentence:
ReplyDeleteHow stupid that in the new one this capability doesn't exist!!!
I had no idea that blogger changed something, I see no difference with your blog.
ReplyDeleteMago: Blogger just changed some things behind the scenes. Obviously they didn't think things through properly before sending it live.
ReplyDeleteThank you for allowing me in, Ponita!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I found how, Mago! Welcome back!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteShall we try whether the wv works here - you use the old interface now, and I think you had wv on normally - sorry I can simply not remember.
ReplyDeleteWe could try this, just to see what happens. If it's working it is an aditional safety thingy for you.
I had originally turned the word verification on because of spammers but they seem to be long gone. So for now I will leave it off. If they come back, then we will see how things work.
ReplyDeleteGood. Hopefully the irresistable occasions in clothes, furs and whatnot will not swap on your blog!
