Fair warning

Twice now in the past few posts here on my blog, some Anonymous person has made rude comments that just don't need to be made. They are aimed at being hurtful and are of a personal nature. I've deleted them but I do know a number of you read the first one and came to my defense. I honestly don't know who the person is but it seems to be someone who thinks they know me.

I have no idea who this anonymous asshole is, but I am going to change from allowing comments from anyone (including that anonymous bastard) to either google users or registered users only. I don't know if that will stop the nasty person but if they come back, maybe I would be able to track them down.

What I need from all of you is which one would be better. I know not everyone is a google blogger, but I suppose if you still have a google account, it would work. As for registered users, if anyone knows how this works, could you please enlighten me?

Since it is Sunday evening and my surgery is Tuesday morning, I need to make this change PDQ. So any input in the next 24 hours would be most appreciated. Thanks!

  1. I have mine set to 'registered users' but actually I haven't a clue what this means!
So I have looked it up and it means 'someone else who owns a blogger account'.
I hope this helps and that you get rid of the nasty commenter.

  6. I've changed it to "registered users" so hopefully everyone will be able to figure it out... Well, everyone that counts, that is.

  8. you don't need that garbage. One of my friends used to blog until someone (she still has no idea who) started writing trash about my friend's daughter (who was ten...). As long as you are able to keep blogging, I support whatever you do!

  12. Anonymous is an anagram of 'gutless shitehawk' so I wouldnae worry that pretty head too much about a nobody trying to be a somebody hen. We love you to bits, regardless of what any fool says.

If you dinnae pull through the surgery can I have your lawnmower?

  13. Scarlet: Let's hope this keeps the rabble out. ;-)

Snooze: I certainly don't understand that kind of mentality. What do people get out of being mean and nasty? Future posts may be a bit slow for a while but I'll still be here!

    Mago: Thankyou!

Karl: Good morning to you too, and thanks.

Jimmy: But you already have a goat! (And I love all of you too.)

  14. For the most part the "Registered users" works. I did have a family member "pretend" to be someone else but I simply deleted the remark and I guess that person got the message as they didn't try again.

It's a pain in the butt but "delete" on line is much less jail time than doing the same in person, I would think. ;)

    Good luck on your surgery!

  15. Why would anyone have anything like that to say to YOU? I'm sorry and totally undestand why you need to add some security. But, boo to haters. Sorry.

Good luck on your surgery! Are yo good at typing with one hand?

So you have something to say about all this, do you?
Well, let's hear it, then!
