So that meet and greet went well, and we set up a date for a few days later.
Monday morning I get a text message from him. Has a work related dinner that he'd forgotten about on the evening we'd made our date. Which was the only evening that would work. Would I take a rain check until after the long weekend? (That long weekend being this one right now... Monday [tomorrow] is a civic holiday here.) Yup, no problem... shit happens.
Then nary a word. So I'm not holding out hope on that one. But then again, maybe he's been horrendously busy. Whatever.... If I hear from him, we'll see what happens.
In the meantime, I tried to start a 'conversation' with one of the other matches. He's looked at my profile but I guess I didn't look/read too appealing as I've not had a response.
Another of my matches has started a conversation with me. We're at the stage of exchanging 'must haves & can't stands'. All this stuff takes a long time, it seems, waiting for people to respond.
And given that it is a long weekend here, I'm sure lots of people are out of town or doing stuff that gets them away from their computers.
Although with the weather today, with the building intensity of the thunder rumblings out there, I am expecting the rain (which is very light right now) to get worse. Might make for a good day to spend some time on the computer.
No, wait. It's my one day off. I have laundry and housework to do. Guess I'll just pop in once in a while to see if there's any action. Yesterday was gorgeous - sunny and hot - and I worked a 12 hour shift. Doing the same tomorrow but given that it's a stat, I'll make good bucks so I'm not complaining!!!
I think it's a "girl gene"...we show up and then we expect people to be prompt as well. Even if it's a computer screen.
ReplyDeleteHang in there! We're pulling for you.
I love the blue background [even if my crappy laptop goes into overdrive] - hope you hear something soon.
