Death Fog

Gaseous clouds of poisonous vapours will fill the midnight air in my city's streets tonight.

Bring it on, I say!

Kill the little suckers!

The city is fogging for mosquitoes. Finally! They are voracious, the little nasties.

  1. I love it when they spray for mosquitoes! I recognize that smell. It's a wonderful scent--the smell of death coming for mosquitoes and wiping them out!

  3. We're having a particularly harsh mosquito season due to the wet spring. But they don't fog here. I wonder why? They should.

Do you keep your windows closed during the fogging?

  4. it is wonderful, isn't it? unless someone has lived with the real threat to health mosquitoes pose, they can't possibly understand this glee! xoxox

  5. I agree with Savannah...the only thing I gloat more about is the death of fire ants. (Hopefully they stay south of you!)

  6. Will you wear a gasmask?

  7. There are very real ecological concerns when this sort of approach is used.

I imagine they're far from anyone's thoughts, though, when there's the option of even temporary relief from those little buggers!

P.S.: 63mago asked: "Will you wear a gasmask?"; if you do, will we get to see photos? ;-)

  8. My windows were closed because I had the a/c on. And since they fog in the middle of the night, no, I won't be wearing a gas mask, so no, there won't be any photos. ;-)

I'll take the ecological concerns any day over mosquitoes that spread West Nile, Equine Encephalitis and heartworm (in dogs). Never mind the sheer numbers of little nasties trying to stick you with their pointy little beaks! I know why horses run themselves into the ground out in pasture when the mosquitoes are like this...

Put it this way: Think of all those vuvuzelas at the world cup honing in on you and trying to suck your blood... Would that make you okay with the fogging???

  9. Like I said, ecological considerations fade from people's thoughts - it wasn't a complaint, I'd be exactly the same!!

So you have something to say about all this, do you?
Well, let's hear it, then!
