But given all the extra work I had picked up, yesterday and today is my first two day stretch off in quite a while.
And this week, I am back to my regular work schedule, with nothing extra added in. So I will work three evening shifts and that's it. Yay!!!
I still have quite a few boxes to unpack, things to arrange and all that. But things are looking more homely now. I can watch tv, cook, I have a brand new stainless steel fridge because the old harvest gold one (yes, it was old) decided to start peeing on the floor and the BBQ has been used several times in the past week.
The cats have settled in, although Pips bolts for the door every time she hears it open. She thinks she should get to be an outside kitty now. Once we're all settled and I have the firepit in its final resting spot in the back yard, I will stick her in her harness, get out the retractable leash and take her exploring.
So while I have tried to flit about to various blogs, read here and there, and even leave the occasional comment, it's nothing of normal activity.
I am, however, here....
xoxoxox for you, sugar! i'm catching up on my reading/commenting, too!
ReplyDeleteSounds like very good progress all around!
ReplyDeleteWhat configuration is the new fridge? Top freezer, side-by-side, French door? Do you like it?
Savannah: You've had a busy summer!!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteLX: Yep, progress is slow but steady. The fridge is bottom freezer with french doors and yes, I like it a lot!! It's a Kitchenaid and was $600 off in the clearance section of a local furniture chain. Special order that got a dent on the side in shipping so the original purchaser wouldn't take it. Great deal for me!! The side with the ding is against the wall anyway so who cares!
I don't see anything about a party??? :¬)

Map: You gotta let me get settled first!!! Jeez. Mr. Party Animal... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'll let you as soon as I have a date planned, okay? You want to try some Canadian beers while you're over? I can get you Guinness if necessary, but just know it's the stuff in the cans with the widget to get the proper head.
My new fridge is also a stainless French door Kithchenaid! First time with that configuration and I really like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteLX: Cool! How big is yours? Mine is 21.5 cu. ft. It also has the deli drawer in the bottom of the fridge part, which I really like. Plus filtered water and an ice maker.
ReplyDeleteMine is 20 cu ft counter depth, otherwise it would have protruded from the cabinets. Model KFIS20XVMS.
ReplyDeleteMine is not a counter depth model. Didn't matter about depth as it is on a wall by itself. Model is this one, although mine has a "5" at the end of the model number. I don't know if that is specific to Canada but even Kitchenaid Canada didn't recognize the model number with the 5 at the end. However, the one shown by the link is the one I have.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're starting to see daylight again through the boxes. :)
ReplyDeleteI say if Map wants a party, HE should host it. ;)
Good.
ReplyDeleteLiving "out of the box" and al this - I find it a bit unnerving. Good to learn that you now are in YOUR house! And hey - that is something very important, isn't it, the "own", the feeling of independence ... "cross that fence and I'll shoot yer arse off basted" may be a bit of an exaggerated interpretation, but sometimes I tend into this direction, ah man is a territorial being ...
All the best wishes for yer new house, m' dear!
Slowly everything will fall into place. As long as the cats are happy all wil be well.
ReplyDeleteHope: I'd be very happy to have Map come over and host the party!
ReplyDeleteMago: Someone encroaches on my property, I'll sic Lila on them. She has a fearsome bite and hisses quite nicely! hehe
Pat: The cats love it! Lots of windows to look out, and Pips has taken great delight in playing on the carpeted stairs to the basement. :-)
So I'm presuming the flight tickets (tall fella wants to come too) are in the mail? :¬)

You must be feeling settled - you're swapping fridge details with someone half way round the world!
