She's not dead yet...

I have no idea how Zoë can lie like this.... She has each end of her body twisted in opposite directions. These photos were taken on two different days. This is pretty much her favourite position to sleep in.

She looks like she's been killed and tossed on the floor....

Pips, on the other hand, tends to sleep in normal positions most of the time. On occasion, she will be stretched out, especially if in the sunshine that streams in the living room window in the afternoons. But usually, she just looks like this:

  1. I had two cats with distinctively different sleep styles. One would ALWAYS/ONLY sleep tightly curled into a fur ball. The other? She'd be draped, sprawled, stretched, upside down or cork-screwed. Mopsy made sleeping an art form. Gawd, I miss her!

  2. So, Jonas.... when are you going to get another cat or two? You've been talking about it....

  3. Well, I suppose whatever's comfortable works! The carpet must be very comfy. The strays and pet cats in the neighborhood like to sleep on my car when it's parked under the shady tree--leaving lots of paw prints, esp. after I just washed my car!!!

  4. Eros: There have been many times I have had tiny paw prints sliding down my windshield from cats...

  5. Sometimes I wish I could sprawl across the floor and bask in the sunbeam coming through the window.

  6. They're both very cute :) In my experience it's usually cats who curl themselves up into unlikely positions, while dogs are fairly straightforward. I think your pets are a little confused!

  8. Stace: Yeah, well.... my dad always said I would never have a 'normal' pet! I'm not sure what he was implying.....

  9. There's a dog at puppy class who, when asked to 'down', flattens himself with froint legs forward and hind legs sticking straight out back. It's hilarious. (And my now two years gone girl-dog was also a Zoe.)

So you have something to say about all this, do you?
Well, let's hear it, then!
