It's rather how my heart feels right now too.

The last post depicted a woman watching a man walk away. That's pretty much what happened to me last Wednesday, as the MoS told me that he was wanting a way out.

I had a meeting with all interested (or not) parties today to set up my "graduated return to work". That may sound a bit pretentious, as if I've finished some kind of fancy yearlong training program, but it's just being cautious.

After all, the last thing I want to do is re-injure that shoulder. Or any other body part, for that matter.

So I have the next four all weeks laid out.

Lila is all of 8 weeks old in this! I can't believe how tiny she is! A fearless little ball of fluff.

In the past week or so, I've been having problems commenting on some blogs. For some reason, the box where you choose your account is very tiny and nothing happens when I click on it. This is only on some blogs, not all. Consequently, it keeps telling me to select an account, which I can't do. So I can't comment. Grrrrr!

It's officially Fall. Although you'd not know it by the weather here. It's been unseasonably warm. In fact, we've had days where the high was a good 10+ degrees C above the norm!!! I am sooooo not going to complain about that! I'm going to add my little bit on smoking... turkeys.

I admit, they are difficult to roll, keep falling outta the paper... and don't stay lit either.

But it was an experience for me! First time in my life I'd smoked a turkey. Well, two actually.

Fall has fallen. With a thud. One day it is 29C (whatever in the 80sF) and the next day, we get up to a high of 16C (61F). No transition. No gradual decrease in the daily high temperature. Just smacked in the face with cooler temps.

But last week... Well!!! The weather was spectacular! It was hothothot and blazingly sunny. I think we hit 33C one day and the rest were pretty close to that. I am one week post surgery now and last night was the first time I slept through the night. I have spent that week of nights propped up on the couch, as lying down hurts waaaaaaay too much and I think the longest I've lasted is about 5 minutes. Well, I finally have a surgery date for the repair of my shoulder. July 26th is it! That will be exactly seven months to the day I injured it. I've been doing the exercises the doctor gave me, which are done with my other arm assisting, and even then it still hurts.
I've also been using an 8 lb weight to do bicep and triceps work. (Very light, I know... I'm gonna miss the high and dry ride that an SUV with 4 wheel drive gives, but I sure won't miss filling the gas tank, considering the price of gas just shot up to $1.32 here (well, 131.9 but all you non Canadians wouldn't know what that meant). And for those south of the border, I think that works out to about $5 a gallon. It's lots.

When Kim was taking photos of his daughter blowing the dandelion fluff into the spring breeze, he mentioned it took 167 shots to get the right one. Which was a good thing, as they ran out of dandelions.

If he wants to repeat that effort, and does not want to run out, I would suggest he come to the farm I used to live on. I saw the surgeon today. He's pleased with the little bit of improvement there has been in my shoulder since I first saw him. He gave me some exercises to do, and I have been, but because it's only been a minor improvement, I told him I want it fixed. It's been three months already!

So I am on the list for an OR date. I'm in the midst of a move... downsizing from a house to an apartment. I've donated/sold/given away so much stuff, you'd think I'd be possessionless!

Such is not the case, however. I still feel like I have way too much stuff for a 2 bedroom apartment, but once I get everything unpacked and put away, perhaps it will all fit.

It is now spring here in Winnipeg. Skeins of geese wend their way northward across the sky in ever increasing numbers, honking sporadically as they survey the massive remnants of snow that still cover most areas. There's only one place to get it, and they have you by the short ones if you balk at paying what they charge.

Several times over the past few years, they've had a surplus in their coffers at the end of the year and all insured vehicle owners have gotten about a 10% rebate cheque in the mail.

I had a minor slip on the ice today as my nephew and I were loading stuff to take from my place to his... my donation to the younger generation, so to speak.

And because I actually remembered to not flail with my right arm as my left foot whipped out across the ice, said butt cheek had to clench mighty hard to maintain my balance.

Which they charge by the month for, when they pay by the second... Now what's wrong with this picture? Plain and simple massive gouging is all I see!!!

A blizzard has rolled into Manitoba this evening, possibly upping the snow levels to more than we need for another catastrophic flood in a couple of months. They are calling for 5 - 10 cm of new snow overnight but it's hard to tell just how much has come down so far because the winds are gusting up to 70 kph.
